My Mind, My Heart, My Hands – Mine

When “the skin between your fingers tingled with an emptiness of a utensil. In a year, your scintillation glows a bit more gold than these blue ink pens, a locale of open fields  and color-blocked mountains use as a barricade. Paths painted inset – layered beneath and below the certainty of years, all of this useless chaos swirling in about these empty distractions, and feeble pretense” (Excerpt from Falling in Love with an Artist).

For Reliving Memories

His smile: do you notice the wrinkle by his eyes, and how they curve upwards as if they’re smiling with him. Do you notice how his eyes become smaller as if they can’t stand how happy he is, that they shrivel in love? Did you notice how he threw his head back, and chuckled under his breath? Do you remember how lovely he was, even when he was laughing? I miss him. “Watch him laugh. Isn’t he lovely?”

{Hand Lettering; [/hand/] [/ˈledəriNG/] }

(Noun/Verb)

“The art of drawing letters.”

When Simplicity & Complexity Meet

“Words ,” he tugs at my arms to write more in the beauty he hasn’t seen. His small hands showed me that he  hasn’t lived long enough to know the beauty in the stories they tell but I watch him trace the lines of the words, and I know that he will grow to love them. I respond, “Beautiful,” and he repeats me.

{Painting; [/ˈpān(t)iNG/]}

(Noun/Verb)

“The art of using paint, in a picture.”

Color  Comes to Life

When my hands are covered in splotches in intermixing colors like fields of wildflowers, my mind smiles in content.

{Drawing; [/ˈdrôiNG/]}

(Noun/Verb)

“A picture made with a pencil, pen, or crayon rather than paint.”

Talented Hands

My hands are cramped in a position where my hands wrap around the curvature of a pencil’s soft lines smoothly. The sides of my palms rest on surfaces where graceful gestures are driven, and sentences in forms of lines and shapes surface.
